The
Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone
will become the centre of business
excellence in the Northern Emirates.
With upgrades in infrastructure,
aggressive marketing, a keen interest
in promoting e-commerce entrepreneurship,
Ras Al Khaimah will be known as
a region where businesses are
welcome, successful, and flourishing.
Free
Trade Zone Plan:

Business
Park
The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade
Zone Business Park is centrally
located in the heart of Ras Al
Khamiah's vibrant business district.
The Business Park offices are
collocated within the Ras Al Khaimah
Free Trade Zone Authority headquarters,
making the conduct of business
with the Free Trade Authority
staff extremely convenient.
The Business Park in Ras Al Khaimah
is, by design, located between
the Industrial Park, 20 kilometers
to the north, and the Technology
Park, 15 kilometers to the south.
Its proximity to the Emirate's
Emiri Diwan and other government
centers of activity is an additional
advantage.

As if these convenient benefits
were not enough, the Business
Park is just a short walk from
the 1,600m2 Ras Al Khaimah exhibition
hall and the new Manar Mall, a
modern shopping and entertainment
complex, and a 5 star hotel are
only minutes away.
Each
office in the Business Park has
three Etisalat connections for
telephone, Internet, and/or fax
and sports an elegant interior
design. The Ras Al Khaimah Free
Trade Zone Authority provides
all utilities and cleaning services
for each office and encourages
Business Park tenants to call
on the Free Zone Authority staff
at time they need assistance.
The
Industrial Park
The
Industrial Park is located along
the Ras Al Khaimah coastal road
approximately 15 kilometers north
of Ras Al Khaimah and immediately
adjacent to Hulaylah Island, site
of the 100 hectare second-phase,
and approximately 6 kilometers
from Port Saqr.
Due to the coastal location of
the site, the Industrial Park
site was raised three meters above
the high tide level for development.
This area was grade levelled and
fenced. The unfilled area around
the site was retained as wetlands
to protect a native stand of Mangrove
trees and to provide a pleasant
and ecologically friendly environment
in which to work.
Location Plan
The Industrial Park is subdivided
to provide a variety of plot sizes
ranging from 400m2 to 3800m2.
Plots may be consolidated to create
larger parcels to accommodate
investors' requirements. Plots
are fully serviced with water,
electricity, and telecommunications.
To support companies locating
at the Industrial Park, employee
accommodations and a Ras Al Khaimah
Free Trade Zone Administrative
and Service Support Center is
located inside the Park. Additional
services are planned outside the
perimeter and will include a petrol
station and restaurants.
Parking and Loading Requirements
All plots will have sufficient
off-street parking and loading
areas to meet the demands of the
users. Off-street parking and
loading areas shall be designed
and maintained to ensure that
parking, maneuvering and loading
shall not occur within the street
right-of-way. A minimum of 1 parking
space per 100 square meters of
gross floor area shall be provided.
Development Controls
Phase One of the Industrial Park
was developed for light to medium
industry and associated warehousing,
storage, and transportation activities.
Land uses permitted in this portion
of the Industrial Park are those
that will not adversely affect
adjacent development or impact
the environmental quality of the
area. An environmental impact
statement, written by qualified
environmental professionals, must
accompany all applications for
industrial and manufacturing activities.
In general, no activities will
be approved that have detrimental
impacts to the environment and
or the health safety and general
welfare of the public.

Technology
Park
The
71 hectare Technology Park is
located in an area of Ras Al Khaimah
that is not only developing as
a manufacturing area but as a
recreational tourist area. The
Park is adjacent to the Ras Al
Khaimah Ceramics Factory and other
light manufacturing businesses.
The Al Hamra Development located
across the Emirates Highway, is
a 325-hectare waterfront recreational
and residential development that
includes a hotel, waterfront villas,
marina and golf course.
The proximity of the Technology
Park to the Emirates Highway makes
it readily accessible to the City
Center, International Airport,
Port Saqr, and destinations southward,
such as Dubai.
The Technology Park is designed
to separate non-compatible uses
and provides plots configured
to accommodate investors' needs.
Plots may be further subdivided
or consolidated to meet development
requirements. Plots will be fully
served with water, electricity,
and telecommunications. To support
companies locating at the Technology
Park, employee accommodations
and a Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade
Zone Administrative and Service
Support Center will be located

Development Controls
The Technology Park is intended
to accommodate manufacturing and
assembly companies. The Ras Al
Khaimah Free Trade Zone Authority
assumes that free zone companies
will incorporate capital-intensive
and high technology applications
in their manufacturing and assembly
processes in addition to associated
warehousing, storage, and transportation
activities.
Industrial
property development should be
of high visual quality and minimal
environmental impacts. Uses permitted
within the Technology Park boundaries
are those that can be performed
or carried out entirely within
a building. Building designs and
construction must ensure that
company operations and uses do
not adversely impact adjacent
development or property, have
no detrimental effects on the
environment, and do not affect
the health safety and general
welfare of the public. Adverse
impacts include vibration, sound,
electromechanical disturbances,
electro-magnetic disturbances,
radiation, air and water pollution,
dust, emissions of odorous, toxic
